(Quelle: dpa) Genf - Honda will im Jahr 2009 einen Kleinwagen mit Hybrid-Antrieb auf den Markt bringen. Das kündigte der Hersteller am Rande des Genfer Autosalons an. Honda setzt dabei auf Breitenwirkung, anstatt große Autos mit der Hybridtechnik auszustatten.

Während der Hybrid-Antrieb bei vielen Herstellern den großen, schweren und teuren Fahrzeugen vorbehalten sei, sagte Pressesprecher Alexander Heintzel. Die Technik für den künftigen Kleinwagen im Format des Honda Jazz haben die Japaner auf dem Genfer Autosalon in der Schweiz bereits in ihrem Small Hybrid Sports Concept präsentiert.
