(Quelle: Ecofys) Köln/Utrecht, Niederlande - Ecofys hat ein neues Brennstoffzellen-System entwickelt, das mit Hilfe eines äußerst kompakten Reformers aus Flüssiggas (LPG) direkt vor Ort Wasserstoff herstellt und damit die Probleme bei der separaten Infrastruktur für den Transport und die Lagerung von Wasserstoff lösen soll.

Das System konzipierte Ecofys gemeinsam mit den Unternehmen Brinkmann & Niemeijer, JD Nederland und Voller Energy. Die Entwicklung bringt die breite Nutzung von Brennstoffzellen zur abgas- und geräuscharmen Energieerzeugung etwa im Verkehrsbereich einen wichtigen Schritt voran.

(Quelle: pbp) New York - Shai Agassi, früher mal als SAP-Chef gehandelt, ist nun mit einem neuen, gut finanzierten Unternehmen aufgetaucht. Mit seiner im Sommer gegründeten Firma „Project Better Place“ will er weltweit in das Geschäft mit Elektrofahrzeugen einsteigen.

Für sein Ziel, dem Elektroauto zum Durchbruch zu verhelfen, hat Agassi bereits 200 Millionen Dollar Startkapital eingesammelt. Die Geschäftsidee liegt in der weltweiten Bereitstellung der Infrastruktur von Ladestationen, intelligente Aufladestationen sollen durch automatisierte Stationen für das Auswechseln der Batterien ergänzt werden.

45. Europaparlament will CO2-Grenze von 125 Gramm pro Kilometer

(Quelle: ar) Das Europaparlament ist auf seiner heutigen Sitzung (24.Oktober 2007) nicht dem Vorschlag der EU-Kommission gefolgt, die Kohlendixid-Emission von Neuwagen bis zum Jahr 2012 auf im Schnitt 120 Gramm pro Kilometer zu senken.

Stattdessen hat sich das Gremium für einen Grenzwert von 125 g/km ab 2015 ausgesprochen.

46. Exide Signs Agreement with Ballard for Forklift Truck Power Solution

47. Electrovaya Signs MOU to Establish India´s First Lithium Ion Polymer Battery Plant

(Source: Electrovaya) Toronto, Ontario - Electrovaya announced that it has entered into a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Electrotherm India Ltd. to establish an Advanced Lithium Polymer battery plant in India, with a capacity of up to 10 Megawatt hours per month.

Pursuant to the MOU, a new Company will be established, with shared ownership between Electrotherm and Electrovaya, to manufacture battery packs for electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers and four-wheelers produced in India. Electrotherm and Electrovaya will have the right to appoint the Managing Director and Chairman for the new Company on an alternate basis.

48. Ener1 Awarded Lithium Ion Battery Development and Supply Contract with Think Global

Lauderdale, FL - Ener1 announced today that its EnerDel subsidiary entered into a Supply Agreement with Think Global of Oslo, Norway, the manufacturer of the Th!nk City electric vehicle (EV). Under the agreement, Think Global has selected EnerDel as the supplier of choice for prismatic Lithium ion (Li ion) batteries that will be used to power its Th!nk City vehicle.

EnerDel will use its experience in battery management system integration already implemented in its recently unveiled HEV product. EnerDel’s Li ion solution for the Electric Vehicle drive train is designed to have higher energy density than HEV cells and to enable vehicles to last up to a goal of 100 miles (160 kilometers) without recharging.

49. Ethanol- und Hybridfahrzeuge legen in den USA deutlich zu

(Quelle: ar) In den USA sind im zweiten Quartal 2007 annähernd 490 000 Fahrzeuge mit alternativen Antriebskonzepten verkauft worden. Das ist ein Rekordzuwachs von 27 Prozent gegenüber dem Vergleichszeitraum des Vorjahres. Damit ist die Zahl der so genannten AFAs (Alternative Fuel Automobiles) in den Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika auf fast 11,5 Millionen Fahrzeuge angestiegen.

50. EU-Umweltausschuss für 120-Gramm CO2-Ziel ohne wenn und aber

(Quelle: EU-Parlament) - Die Mitglieder des Umweltausschusses fordern den durchschnittlichen Kohlendioxid-Ausstoß aller Neuwagen bis 2012 auf 120 Gramm pro Kilometer zu senken. Für Benzinschlucker sollen die Hersteller Strafen zahlen, während Sparmodelle belohnt würden. Mit der Verabschiedung des Berichts des britischen Abgeordneten Chris Davies verlangen die Umweltpolitiker des Europaparlaments eine gesetzliche Regelung und erklären den Ansatz der auf eine Selbstverpflichtung der Hersteller setzte für gescheitert.

Seit der industriellen Revolution hat der Anteil von Kohlendioxid (CO2) in der Atmosphäre um mehr als Ein Drittel zugenommen, wobei der Anstieg in den letzten Jahren am stärksten war. Die Verwendung von fossilen Brennstoffen ist eine der wichtigsten Quellen für das Treibhausgas CO2.
