51. Continental bringt eigenen Lithium-Ionen-Batteriepack auf den Markt

(Quelle: ams) Laut einem Bericht von auto motor und sport will Continental bis Ende 2009/Anfang 2010 gemeinsam mit einem noch ungenannten Partner einen eigenen Lithium-Ionen-Batteriepack auf den Markt bringen. Der Preis soll deutlich unter dem Preisniveau von Nickel-Metall-Hybrid-Batterien liegen.

Der Automobilzulieferer Continental will sich durch die erstmalige Produktion von eigenen Batterien ein Stück vom Kuchen des Wachstumsmarkts Hybridantriebe sichern. Der Batteriepack soll aus Kostengründen luftgekühlt sein und nur noch 60 Prozent des Volumens aktueller Batteriepacks erreichen. Beim Gewicht will Continental auf 70 Prozent kommen. Der Preis soll um fast die Hälfte unter dem heutigen Niveau liegen. Nach der Ankündigung von Mitsubishi zu diesem Thema, scheinen sich die heutigen Schlagzeilen in diesem Bereich zu überschlagen.
